The Gambling Treatment and Research Center at UCONN Health Center is supported by grants from the National Institute of Health. The Center has been in operation since 1998, and over 1,000 individuals with gambling problems have received treatment at our Center.

In addition, the Center provides trainings to mental health professionals about screening for gambling problems in their clients and delivering gambling treatment. We also provide links to resources about gambling and gambling treatment for problem gamblers and their family members.
Dr. Nancy Petry, the Center's Director, is a Professor of Psychiatry at UCONN Health Center. She has been the keynote speaker at national and international conferences on gambling treatment and has published numerous articles, including research about Internet gambling, gambling in youth, and gambling in the elderly. In addition, Dr. Petry has published a book about gambling and its treatment, containing step-by-step instructions for the delivery of evidenced-based gambling treatment: Petry, N.M. (2005).
